James Lane

James Lane is a seasoned Sr. Controls Engineer with extensive experience in the field of automation and controls across various industries. Currently at Industrial Data Management since January 2024, James previously held positions at Dematic Mobile Automation and BP, where key responsibilities included designing and commissioning well automation solutions for complex multiwell sites in the Permian basin, as well as providing engineering support for instrumentation and controls. Earlier roles at Newby Electric involved designing and commissioning controls in the natural gas industry, while experience at Nuclear Filter Technology focused on I&C design and support for nuclear test facilities. James also has a background in electrical engineering from E-Squared Power Systems, and began a career at RMH Group, contributing to high-speed data collection systems. Educational qualifications include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and Electrical Engineering, respectively, from the Colorado School of Mines.
