Prof Dr Arun Jamkar has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles. Prof Dr Arun is currently serving as the Vice President of the IEEE EMBS Pune Chapter since 2022. In 2016, they founded and served as the Founder Director and President of the Inter Institutional Inclusive Innovations Center - i4C. Prof Dr Arun is also a Distinguished Professor at SYMBIOSIS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY since 2020. Additionally, they have worked as a Consultant at Persistent Systems since 2016 and as the Chief Medical Officer at iNDX.Ai since 2019. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Director of Postgraduate Studies, Research & Development at MIT Group of Institutions, Kothrud, Pune. Prior to that, they served as the Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences from 2010 to 2015 and the Vice Chancellor of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University from 2014 to 2014. Prof Dr Arun also has experience as the Dean of B. J. Medical College from 2007 to 2010.
Prof Dr Arun Jamkar obtained their MBBS and MS degrees in Medicine and Surgery from Government Medical College, Aurangabad, from 1969 to 1977. Prof Dr Arun then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Surgical Oncology at Savitribai Phule Pune University, from 1981 to 1989.
In terms of certifications, Prof Dr Arun Jamkar received the MEU India Life time achievement Award from Rita Memorial Oration in August 2022. In June 2016, they were awarded the Life time achievement Award as a Medical teacher by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences Nashik. Additionally, they received the "Award for outstanding contribution to education" during the World Education Congress - 2012 of Global Advisory Council on June 29, 2012.
