Marius Maaland

Marius Maaland has a diverse work experience. In 2015, they were a Co-founder/Project Manager at Ascend NTNU. In 2016, they were a Summer Intern at DNB and KONGSBERG. In 2017, they were a Full Stack Developer at Kaupang Krypto and a Software Developer Intern at Emergent Machines, Inc. In 2018, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Cognite AS. In 2019, they were a Software Engineer at Trusted Key (Acquired by Workday) and a Software Development Engineer II at Workday. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at IndyKite since 2022 and a Software Engineer II at Cognite AS since 2020. During their role at Cognite AS, they built an asynchronous document preview service with Kotlin and Postgres and architected and implemented data extractors in Python. At Workday, they implemented Pact contract testing of credentialing APIs and their clients in Golang, lead an effort to open-source a Decentralized Identifier Java driver plugin, and added crucial features to the Credential Platform's Blockchain Golang backend. At Emergent Machines, Inc., they created a pipeline for media curation and labelling using Amazon Mechanical Turk, involving AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and API Gateway, and used openCV and Dlib to create a face detection and pose estimation pipeline.

Marius Maaland's education history includes completing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2015 to 2019, studying Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington from 2016 to 2017, completing a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering from NTNU from 2013 to 2014, and graduating from St. Olav videregående skole with a STEM-focused high school degree from 2009 to 2012. Additionally, Maaland has earned six certifications from Coursera, including Deep Learning Specialization, Sequence Models, Convolutional Neural Networks, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects.
