Sandra Vura Harwood serves as the Vice President of Meetings and Education at the Infectious Diseases Society of America since June 1998. In this role, Sandra is part of the management team that provides strategic guidance to meet organizational goals and priorities. Additionally, Sandra acts as the Meeting Secretariat for IDWeek, a premier conference for infectious diseases professionals. Previously, Sandra held the position of Director of Meetings, overseeing meeting services and operations, including site selection, vendor negotiations, and budget management. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Meetings at ICAG/ConExpo/ConAGG. Sandra holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Management from the University of Maryland and has further education from American University.
