Joseph Karakowski has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Joseph started their career in 1969 as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer at Intelligence & Information Warfare Directorate, where they focused on information fusion, AI, and fuzzy expert/neural systems research and development. Joseph also worked on classification algorithms in fuzzy neural networks, visualization and data framework, text independent speaker recognition, coding and software system design and testing using C, C++, and Java.
In 1998, Joseph became the Branch Chief at Intelligence & Information Warfare Directorate/CERDEC, where they were responsible for managing a team of 11-19 technical personnel and an operating budget of $8.3 million. Joseph continued their research and development work in fusion and supporting technology.
In 2011, Joseph joined CACI International Inc as an Engineering Senior Scientist, where they contributed their expertise until 2013. Joseph then moved on to InfoFusion Corporation as the Director of Engineering. In this role, they focused on R&D in fusion, intelligence, and supporting technology, including defining new fusion R&D projects and proposals for customers in areas such as homeland security, biometrics, and integration.
Throughout their career, Joseph has published several papers and books on fusion technology, fuzzy reasoning, and related topics.
Joseph Karakowski obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1969. Joseph went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Fairleigh Dickinson University, which they completed in 1976. Later, Joseph obtained another Master's Degree, this time in Computer Science, from Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating in 1982.
