Melissa Romero is an experienced marketing and communications professional currently serving as the Associate Director of Marketing for The Nature Conservancy's Cities Network since April 2022. In this role, Melissa develops and implements strategic marketing plans focused on conservation awareness and action. Prior to this position, Melissa held various roles at Fairmount Park Conservancy, including Communications Manager, Communications Coordinator, and Communications & Engagement Assistant. Melissa's extensive background in health and wellness journalism includes positions at Washingtonian Magazine, where significant traffic growth was achieved under her editorship, as well as freelance contributions to various publications. Melissa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Newspaper and Online Journalism with a minor in Anthropology from Syracuse University.
