Sarah Chou is the CEO of Informed K12, a position they have held since July 2012. Prior to that, they were a Learning and Technology Fellow with the Cupertino Union School District from October 2011 to July 2012. In that role, they were responsible for project-based blended learning activities with iPads in grades 1-3 classrooms, evaluating applications, online tools, and software programs for student and teacher learning, and working with Apple distinguished educators to build capacity for leveraging all school technologies, including flip cameras, ELMO projectors, and 1:1 laptops in grades 4 and 5.
Before their work with the Cupertino Union School District, Sarah Chou was the Professional Development Systems Manager with Providence Public Schools from May 2009 to June 2011. In that role, they administered an $8M program of professional development and new curriculum for all employees, including over 2,000 teachers and 900 paraprofessionals. Sarah also designed online and on-site access to training, directed all principals and supervisors in planning and execution of seasonal institutes, led developers in building applications for data management, and recruited student representatives who sat on district policy boards, led city-wide campaigns, and advised the superintendent.
Sarah Chou has a Master's degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics / Art Semiotics from Brown University.
