Phil Hartman has worked in the IT and engineering fields for over 40 years. Phil began their career in 1981 as a Senior Electronic Engineer for the Department of Defense. In 1993, they joined IBM Global Services as an IT Architect, where they provided technical solutions to business problems and estimated the size of development efforts. Phil was later promoted to Executive IT Architect, System Engineering Architecture and Testing (SEAT), where they provided technical leadership for complex system integration and custom application development projects. In 2017, they moved to IBM as an Executive IT Architect, Cloud Application Migration Services, Public Service, where they addressed requirements for the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Health and Human Services, and other Federal healthcare clients. In 2018, they joined InfoWorks, Inc. as a Director and Senior Data Architect. In this role, they consulted with a major hospital system to perform data analytics and machine learning, used Python, Random Forest, histogram, and correlation techniques to improve the accuracy of hospital length of stay estimates, and created visualizations in Power BI to provide insight into important data relationships.

Phil Hartman obtained a BS in Electronic Engineering from the University of Memphis in 1981 and an MS in Electronic Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University in 1984. In 2007, they attained a Professional Certification: Level 3 - Distinguished Certified Architect from The Open Group. In 2017, they received an Architect Profession Certification - Level 3 Thought Leader from IBM. In 2020, they obtained a Certified Cloud Practitioner and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Lastly, in 2022, Phil Hartman achieved a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate from Databricks.
