Garth Wermter has a diverse work experience in the technology and IT industry. Garth started their career at the University of Virginia, where they held positions as a Technical Manager and later as a Director of Technology. Garth then worked as a Field Engineer at Multimedia Medical Systems and as a Technical Operations Manager at Martha Jefferson Hospital. Garth also served as the Director of Technology for the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, where they played a key role in planning and implementing the commission's information services. Garth later became the President of an IT and Communications Company, where they managed day-to-day operations and provided technical expertise to clients. Garth then became a partner at WebPoint IT Solutions, which later merged with Infranet Technologies Group, where they assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer. In this role, they oversee the company's network solutions for business critical network infrastructures.

Garth Wermter holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, General from the University of Virginia, which they obtained from 1992 to 1996. Garth also completed their Master of Information Technology degree in Information Technology at Virginia Tech from 2015 to 2018. In addition, they have certifications in Open Water Diving from PADI and CCNA from Cisco.
