Nazmul Haque

Nazmul Haque has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of infrastructure development and renewable energy. Nazmul started their career as an Intern at the Asian Development Bank in 2002. Following that, they worked as a Research Associate at CMSL Securities Limited, where they conducted pre-IPO market research and supported IPO and Right Share issuance for local commercial banks.

In 2003, Nazmul joined the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) and held various roles throughout their tenure. Nazmul began as an Investment Officer, jointly managing a USD 225 million credit line from the World Bank and conducting project appraisals. Nazmul then became a Senior Investment Officer, supporting IDCOL's conversion to a Full-Fledged Financial Institution and financing significant projects such as private land port and satellite earth station projects.

Nazmul later took on the role of Assistant Director (Investment), where they managed the investment team, expanded IDCOL's loan portfolio in infrastructure and renewable energy, and initiated a nationwide biogas program. Nazmul then became the Director (Investment) & Head of Advisory, overseeing IDCOL's infrastructure and renewable energy portfolio, financing 1 million solar home systems, and initiating programs such as Improved Cook Stove (ICS) and Green Brick.

Nazmul'sfinal role at IDCOL was the Chief Investment Officer, where they managed an investment portfolio of USD 800+ million, sourced and negotiated funds from multilateral/bilateral agencies, and arranged significant funding from ADB, JICA, and AFD.

Nazmul Haque completed their education in a chronological order. Nazmul attended Notre Dame College from 1996 to 1997, where they completed their Higher Secondary School in the field of Science. From 1998 to 2001, they studied at North South University, obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a focus on Accounting and Finance and Management Information System. In 2010, Haque pursued further education at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, specializing in Sustainable Energy Finance. Nazmul completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance at North South University from 2011 to 2016. Lastly, in 2023 to 2024, Haque attended Harvard Kennedy School, earning a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public Policy Analysis.
