Priyal Thakrar has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Priyal has held positions such as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Infrastructure Ontario, where they led finance teams, enterprise risk, internal audit, technology, transformation, and corporate strategy functions for a dynamic infrastructure organization. Priyal also served as a Vice President at Scotiabank, where they were responsible for financial reporting, planning, and analysis in the International Banking Division. Priyal Thakrar has also worked at BMO Financial Group, Aviva Canada, Manulife Financial, and Canada Life Financial Corporation, where they held various finance leadership positions. Priyal holds certifications as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), has an MBA, and is an ICD.D certified corporate director.

Priyal Thakrar holds a CPA designation from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada. Priyal completed their Bachelor of Commerce (High Honours) degree in Accounting and Finance from Carleton University in 1995. In 2002, they obtained an MBA from York University with a focus on Finance and Strategy. Priyal also completed the Executive Leadership Program at INSEAD from 2007 to 2012, specializing in Strategy and Leadership. Currently, they are pursuing the Directors Education Program at the Institute of Corporate Directors, expected to obtain their ICD.D designation in 2023.
