Tom Wheatley

Tom Wheatley has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Tom is currently working at Infratec as a Development Programme Manager, where they deliver renewable energy solutions. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Development Project Manager at the same company.

In 2021, Tom co-founded a technology startup called Info Farm Ltd, where they focused on decentralized protocols and offered expertise on protocol selection, evaluation, process development, and hardware deployment.

From 2012 onwards, Tom worked as a Director at Koru Capital Ltd. Here, they focused on project management, business process design, change management, and health system projects.

From 2016 to 2018, Tom served as the CEO of NextGen Energy's Retail Division, where they successfully implemented processes and structures for the NZ electricity market.

Before that, they worked as a Consultant at Voyedge from 2008 to 2011, and as a Futures Trader at FCT from 2006 to 2007.

Tom's earliest work experience was as a Management Consultant at Xansa from 1998 to 2006.

Tom Wheatley has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields. In 1994, they enrolled at the University of Hull and completed their MEng (hons) degree in Electronic Engineering in 1998. Over a decade later, in 2002, they obtained the PRINCE2 Practitioner certification from APM Group.

In 2006, Tom received a Certificate of Derivatives Trading Competence from FCT EUROPE LIMITED. In 2007, they obtained the Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) Level I certification from IFTA.org.

Tom's educational journey continued in 2015 when they acquired the National Certificate for Financial Services from NZQA, specializing in Financial Advice.

In recent years, Tom has also pursued various additional certifications to enhance their skill set. In 2019, they obtained certifications in Python for Students, Transitioning from Waterfall to Agile Project Management, Introduction to Cloud Computing for IT Pros, Microsoft Teams Quick Tips, Entrepreneurship Foundations, Bored and Brilliant (Blinkist Summary), Blockchain Basics, Big Data in the Age of AI, and Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World (Blinkist Summary), all obtained through LinkedIn. Additionally, they completed the St John level 2 First Aid course offered by St John New Zealand in 2020 and learned to use Zoom through a LinkedIn course.

Tom's more recent certifications include the edX Verified Certificate for Technology Entrepreneurship: Lab to Market from edX in 2022. In the same year, they completed the courses "Ultimate Solar Energy Design Course from Zero to Hero" from Udemy and "Blockchain: Beyond the Basics" from LinkedIn. In 2021, they obtained the Introduction to NFTs: Non-fungible Tokens certification from LinkedIn.
