Richard Burke has extensive work experience in various roles related to information security and IT management. Richard is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at Inghams Group Limited since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Information Security Manager at GrainCorp from November 2019 to October 2022. From October 2017 to November 2019, they held the position of Head of Information Security at Ricoh Australia. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior IT Project Manager at Ricoh IT Services from December 2014 to February 2016. Richard also gained experience at Sony DADC as an IT Manager - Service Delivery from September 2012 to December 2014 and in roles related to IT business services from March 2008 to September 2012. Richard started their career as a Systems Administrator at Macquarie University in November 2001 and worked there until August 2006. Before that, they undertook IT services projects at MICROS Systems Inc from August 2006 to March 2008. Throughout their career, Richard has contributed to various projects related to business intelligence implementation, infrastructure refresh, and network/server installation.
Richard Burke earned a Master of IT (Management) degree from Macquarie University from 2012 to 2014. In 2013, they completed the NextGen CIO Masterclass (winner) program at ZDNet / Charles Sturt. Richard also pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology at RMIT University from 2003 to 2004, although they did not complete the program. Additionally, they obtained a Diploma in Network Engineering from TAFE NSW from 2000 to 2001. Richard holds several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Information Security Management Systems Lead Auditor (BS ISO/IEC 27001:2013), ITIL Practitioner, ITIL Foundation, Prince2 Foundation, Prince2 Practitioner, and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
