James Parks has held various roles in the field of data science. James started their career as a Data Scientist at Ingrooves Music Group in 2018 and gradually progressed to the positions of Senior Data Scientist and Senior Director of Data Science. Currently, they hold the position of VP, Data Science at Ingrooves Music Group. Prior to this, James served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at KTH Royal Institute of Technology where they conducted research on audio metadata and lyrical sentiment analysis. James also published research papers in number theory and presented the findings at conferences in Canada and Sweden. Additionally, James worked as a Research Scientist at Leibniz Universität Hannover and as a PIMS Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Lethbridge, where they not only conducted research but also taught undergraduate courses and led tutorials. James Parks completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics from Dalhousie University, which they attended from 2003 to 2007. James then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematics at Simon Fraser University from 2007 to 2009. Following this, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Mathematics from Concordia University, where they studied from 2009 to 2013.
In terms of certifications, James obtained a Data Science Career Track certificate from Springboard in January 2017. James also holds certificates in Getting and Cleaning Data and R Programming from Coursera Course Certificates, earned in August 2015 and June 2015, respectively. Additionally, they completed an Introduction to Machine Learning course from DataCamp, although the specific month and year of completion are unknown.
