Bill Handel is a seasoned plant ecologist currently employed at the Prairie Institute since 2013, where Bill specializes in plant ecology. Additionally, Bill has been a botanist at the Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS) since July 1991, contributing extensive expertise in botanical studies. Bill earned a Master of Science degree in Botany/Zoology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, between 1984 and 1991, and previously obtained an Associate of Science degree in Biology from Highland Community College, Illinois, from 1980 to 1983.
