Joey McDonald

Co-Founder. Advisor at Initial Capacity

Joey McDonald has an extensive work experience in the IT industry, beginning with their role as a Sr. Software Engineer at UUNET in 1996. Joey then moved on to become a Systems Architect at Level 3 Communications in 2004, followed by a role as Director of Information Technology at Looking Glass Systems in 2006. From 2007 to 2011, they worked as a Linux Systems Engineer at Envysion, and then as a Linux Systems Developer at Nokia and BT. In 2016, they joined Pivotal Software, Inc. as Associate Director, Pivotal Labs Platform, where they managed a team of Cloud Foundry solutions architects. In 2020, they became Regional Director, Modern Application Platform at VMware, and in 2021, they became Co-Founder and Advisor at Initial Capacity.

Joey McDonald attended Radford University from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a focus on Economics.
