Amanda Barnes

Amanda Barnes is a creative media and communications professional with extensive experience in graphic design, marketing, and community engagement. Currently serving as the Creative Media & Communications Manager and Arts Alchemist at Initiatives of Change since November 2018, Amanda leads multi-sensory narrative projects that embody the organization's values and foster a sense of community. Previous roles include Media & Marketing Manager at Serenity Counseling Services of Virginia, LLC, and Guest Service Representative at Graduate Hotels. Amanda began a career in the arts and media during studies at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking. Additional experiences range from production assistance at Four Deep Multimedia to volunteer work at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, demonstrating a commitment to service and storytelling through various mediums.
