Harlan Schwarz has a diverse work experience in the media industry. Harlan started their career in 1977 as a Media Planner at Warwick Advertising and then worked as a Senior Media Planner at Bozell & Jacobs from 1978 to 1980. In 1980, they joined Universal McCann/McCann-Erickson as Senior Vice President, Director of Media Planning, and played a key role in creating the agency's strategic print buying and planning unit. Harlan also spearheaded the creation of the agency's DTC/Pharma category media practice. Harlan then worked as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising at Magazine Publishers of America from 2002 to 2004. From 2002 to 2017, they worked at Media Assembly as an Integrated Group Account Director, managing a team of professionals and overseeing client assignments. In 2017, they founded their own consulting firm, The Media Coefficient, where they provided bespoke media services to marketers and agencies. During this time, they also worked as a Principal Consultant. In 2017, they joined Klick as SVP of Media and Business Development, where they were involved in new business projects and oversaw the media practice. Harlan also specialized in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals/healthcare, e-commerce, luxury, technology, and more. In 2019, Harlan joined Inizio Evoke as EVP of Media and later became EVP of Inizio Evoke Media.

Harlan Schwarz attended Baruch College from 1973 to 1977, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Marketing and Advertising.
