Ana Claudia Arias has an extensive work experience in the field of engineering. Ana Claudia is currently a Professor at the University of California Berkeley, a role they have held since 2017. Prior to this, they were Co-Founder of InkSpace Imaging (2016), Engineering Science Chair at the University of California Berkeley College of Engineering (2016), Chair of Technical Advisory Board at Thin Film Electronics (2011), Associate Professor at the University of California Berkeley (2011), and Board of Directors at Materials Research Society (2011). From 2003 to 2001, they were Area Manager and Member of Research Staff at PARC, a Xerox Company, and Group Leader at Plastic Logic, where they established a program for polymer semiconductor characterization for printable transistors and diode structures.

Ana Claudia Arias obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physics from Universidade Federal do Paraná in 1995. Ana Claudia then went on to pursue their MSc in Physics from the same university in 1996-1997. In 1997, they completed their PhD in Physics from the University of Cambridge.
