Katharine (Kate) Hummel is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching and administration. Currently serving as a Teacher of English Language Arts and History at ICEF Public Schools since August 2019, Kate has previously held significant roles including Principal at KL International School of Chongqing Bashu and Academic Dean at The Barstow School/KnowledgeLink. Early experiences include positions as Assistant Administrative Director and International High School Teacher at YuCai High School, as well as student teaching at Dailard and Hardy Elementary Schools. Kate holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from California State University, Long Beach, alongside a Teaching Credential and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from San Diego State University.

ICEF was one of the first charter school management organizations to open in Los Angeles, and quickly became a leader in raising the achievement levels of African-American and Latino/Hispanic students in the State of California.
