Brittani James

Brittani James, MD has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Brittani is currently serving as the Medical Director at the Inner-city Muslim Action Network. In 2020, they co-founded The Institute for Antiracism in Medicine, a civil rights organization dedicated to achieving racial justice in medicine through advocacy and education. Brittani has also co-founded The Coalition to Advance Antiracism in Medicine (CAAM) in 2021, which aims to create an inclusive and equitable healthcare system. Brittani has worked as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family and Community Medicine at UI Health from 2019 to 2021. Brittani was also a founding member of The Vaccine Justice League in 2020, a coalition that focuses on advancing equity in the vaccine effort. Moreover, Brittani co-founded Med Like Me in 2018, a platform supporting underrepresented minorities pursuing careers in medicine. Brittani has also served as an Attending Physician at Aunt Martha's Health & Wellness in 2018 and held the positions of Resident Doctor of Family Medicine and Chief Resident of Family Medicine at UI Health from 2015 to 2018.

Brittani James, MD, obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Biology, Health and Society from Cornell University in 2010. Brittani then attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where they earned their Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree in Medicine in 2015. In 2018, they obtained the certification of Diplomate from the American Board of Family Medicine.
