Daniel Izquierdo Cortázar, PhD, is an accomplished leader in the open source software community with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as Chair, Member of the Board of Directors, President, and Vice President at InnerSource Commons Foundation since February 2020, and as a Board Member at Apereo Foundation since July 2024, Daniel is dedicated to enhancing educational software solutions. In addition, as Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Bitergia since July 2012, Daniel has focused on data-driven decision-making for clients and has established Bitergia as an expert in analyzing open source communities. Daniel co-founded CHAOSS, a Linux Foundation project, and served on the Board of Advisors for OpenUK in sustainability. An academic background includes a PhD in open source software engineering from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, accompanied by teaching and research roles at multiple institutions.
