Matt MacGillivray (He/Him)

Co-Founder, R&D at InnerSpace

Matt MacGillivray has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Matt co-founded InnerSpace Technology Inc. in 2014 and has been actively involved in research and development. Prior to that, they worked at Cornell Lab of Ornithology from 2012 to 2016 as a Data Repository Software Engineer, where they focused on simplifying the scientific process related to bioacoustics. From 2010 to 2012, Matt worked at Kobo Inc. as a Development Manager and later as a Product Manager, leading teams and overseeing core business functions. Before that, they were a Software Architect at PlanetEye from 2007 to 2010, where they played a pivotal role in implementing website requirements. In 2006, Matt served as a Senior Developer at Truition, where they were involved in the development and planning of a PCI compliance project. During their tenure at Blast Radius from 2003 to 2006, they held the position of Technical Architect, managing technical direction and project progress. Matt began their career at Delfour Corporation in 1998 as a Technical Developer and later became a Technical Lead, responsible for web-based logistics software development. Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated a strong ability to lead teams, manage projects, and simplify complex processes.

Matt MacGillivray attended the University of Waterloo from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a focus on Computer Science.
