Ajay Gupta is Senior Partner Emeritus at McKinsey and Company. He brings almost 30 years of experience across healthcare segments. He covers commercial and growth topics, strategy, M&A, large scale performance improvement, organization design and aspiration setting. Ajay serves on the Keystone Board of the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab; non-Executive Director at Healthium Medtech; member of the Board of Directors at BJC Healthcare; Director at OnPoint Surgical, and the RAND Health Advisory Board. Ajay previously led McKinsey’s Midwest Healthcare Practice and North America Medical Products. Ajay extensively served medical technology, pharma/biotech, health systems, academic centers, post-acute providers, drug store chains, specialty pharmacy, PBMs, HCIT, distributors/other intermediaries and disease management. Ajay has published on new product/therapy adoption, commercial excellence, pricing/contracting, digital marketing, industry consolidation and M&A. He is passionate about healthcare policy. He is also an active private investor. Prior to McKinsey, Ajay spent 5 years at Schlumberger Wireline in oilfield services roles in Asia and Europe. Ajay holds an MBA from Stanford University where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi where he was awarded the President’s Gold Medal.
