Innovate Public Schools
Michelle Vilchez is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Innovate Public Schools. Michelle is also a Cohort Member at America's Promise Alliance and an Advisory Board Member at Ambition Angels. Michelle is actively involved in the Ethics & Equity Advisory Council at Axon, where community leaders work together to inform the organization's products and strategies. In the past, Michelle has held various roles such as Fellow at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Executive Director at Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center. Michelle has a BA in Psychology from Bethany College of the Assemblies of God and has completed additional education in fundraising and leadership development.
Innovate Public Schools
Innovate Public Schools is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building the capacity of parents and families to organize, advocate, and demand high quality schools for their children. We believe that the education system was not designed to serve all children, and that the biggest barrier to all children having access to an excellent school is a lack of political will to improve the system. We believe the voices and experiences of parents, families, and students should be elevated and centered in decisions about education. Our vision is a high quality school experience that cherishes and affirms every student, particularly Black and Brown students, and prepares them for a lifetime of opportunity and choice.
