Martin James is an accomplished education leader with extensive experience in innovation and school leadership. Currently serving as Head of Innovation and People at Innovation Unit since April 2016, Martin previously held the role of Principal at Levin Intermediate from January 2015 to August 2016. Prior experience includes positions at the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, where Martin worked as Assistant General Manager and Manager of Policy and Programs, specializing in the National Professional Standards for Teachers. Additionally, a decade-long tenure as Principal at Paremata Primary School and a consulting role at Cognition Ltd further showcase Martin’s expertise in the education sector. Martin holds a Master of Teaching and Learning from Canterbury University.
