Jim Smerchansky

Jim Smerchansky's work experience includes serving as Executive Vice President at Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) starting in April 2021. In April 2022, they became a Member Of The Board Of Advisors at ITL Solutions. Additionally, in January 2022 they became an Executive Fellow at IDB | Institute for Defense & Business. Prior to these roles, they were in transition after retiring from Federal Service in December 2020. Before their retirement, they worked at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) as the Executive Director from December 2016 to December 2020. Prior to that, they held positions at Marine Corps Systems Command, including Executive Director from June 2014 to December 2016 and Chief Engineer from October 2009 to November 2014.

Jim Smerchansky holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Youngstown State University.
