Joe Hoerner has held a variety of roles in the engineering and quality assurance fields since 2010. Joe began their career as a Quality Intern at Biogen Idec in 2010, followed by a Research Assistant position at the Michael W. Krzyzewski Human Performance Lab in the same year. In 2011, they returned to Biogen Idec as a Quality Engineer. In 2013, they joined Johnson & Johnson as a Design Quality Engineer, and later was promoted to Senior Design Quality Engineer. In 2019, they joined InnovHeart S.r.l. as Clinical Development Engineering Manager and Quality Engineering Manager.

Joe Hoerner has an impressive educational background. Joe completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University between 2007 and 2011. During their time at Duke, they also participated in a Study Abroad Program at UNSW in 2009. Before that, they attended Forest Hills Central High School between 2003 and 2007. Joe also holds an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification from ASQ - World Headquarters, which they obtained in February 2021.
