Ed Topp currently serves as a Principal Research Scientist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, while also holding the position of Scientific Coordinator for the Genomics Research and Development Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance. They have been an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biology at Western University since 1995 and a Courtesy Faculty Member at the Soil and Water Sciences Department at the University of Florida from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, Ed is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance and a Corresponding Member of the Academie d'Agriculture de France since 2016. Recently, they assumed the role of ANR/INSERM Distinguished Research Chair on Antimicrobial Resistance at INRAE. Ed’s academic background includes a B.Sc (Agr), M.Sc in Microbiology from McGill University, and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
