Mauricio Díaz

Mauricio Díaz is an accomplished computer science professional with extensive experience in image processing and computer vision. Currently serving as the Head of the Software Development Department at Inria since October 2014, Mauricio leads a team of specialized engineers and advocates for best practices in software development, particularly in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Previous roles include Research Engineer at Automatic Sea Vision, where Mauricio developed image processing modules for threat detection in marine environments, and a Ph.D. Candidate at INRIA, focusing on the photometric properties of the scene in relation to image processing. With a strong educational background, including a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université de Grenoble and multiple degrees in Electronic Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Mauricio has also held positions as a Research Coordinator and Teaching Assistant, showcasing a diverse skill set in research, development, and education.
