Sergio Moya Valerín has been working in the tech industry since 2010. Sergio started as a Host Administrator (DevOps) at CaosHost in 2010, and then moved to Costarican editorial in 2016 as a Lead Software Engineer. In 2018, they joined simMachines as a Data Scientist. In 2021, they joined InRule as a Senior Data Scientist, PRIS-Lab as a Senior Researcher, Organization for Tropical Studies as a Lead Artificial Intelligence Researcher, and Instituto Clodomiro Picado as a Lead Artificial Intelligence Researcher.

Sergio Moya Valerín completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Tecnológico de Costa Rica between 2013 and 2018. Sergio then obtained a Specialization in Advanced Machine Learning from the State University - Higher School of Economics in 2020 and 2021. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (Pattern Recognition) at the Universidad de Costa Rica UCR. In addition, Sergio has obtained certifications from Udemy in AWS Concepts, Continuous Integration with Jenkins, Linux Tutorials and Projects, Advanced Databases and SQL Querying, and Introduction to Databases and SQL Querying. Sergio also holds certifications from Georgia Institute of Technology in Artificial Intelligence, Real Python in Functional Programming in Python, San Jose State University in Intro to Statistics, and Georgia Institute of Technology in Machine Learning, as well as Traditional Face Detection With Python from Real Python.
