Peter Schuette, PhD has a diverse work experience. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as an Asst. Film Editor, Sound Editor, and Composer at ANISMA FILMS. From 2011 to 2015, they worked as a Video Editor at Vice Magazine. From 2015 to 2022, they held two roles at the University of California, Los Angeles: PHD and Senior Research Associate. In their PHD role, they applied various dimensionality reduction, machine learning, information theoretic and statistical analyses to better understand the relationship between high dimensional neural recordings and behavior, as well as neural activity from interconnected brain regions. In their Senior Research Associate role, they studied the effects of deep brain stimulation (DBS) on visual memory, and investigated the brain activation changes associated with learning and memory processes in older individuals with mild cognitive impairment. Since 2022, they have been a Field Scientific Consultant at Inscopix, Inc.

Peter Schuette has a long and varied educational background. Peter began their academic career in 1998 at Columbia University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts in 2002. After this, they completed postbaccalaureate studies at Hunter College in Experimental Psychology from 2013 to 2015. In 2007, they also attended The Edit Center, though it is unclear what they studied there. In 2017, Peter began their PhD studies in Neuroscience at the University of California, Los Angeles, which they are still pursuing.
