Gugu Mkhize

Gugu Mkhize is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in corporate services and executive management across various sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at INSETA since December 2020, Gugu Mkhize oversees leadership, strategic direction, and stakeholder relations. Previous roles include Executive Corporate Services at the National Home Builders Registration Council, where Gugu Mkhize managed facilities, human capital, and organizational change. As Chief Executive Officer of Excelle International, Gugu Mkhize led project management and consulting initiatives in construction and skills development. Experience at the Mining Qualifications Authority ZA as Executive Manager and at the City of Johannesburg as Senior Manager further solidified expertise in corporate governance and human resources. Gugu Mkhize's educational background includes an MBA from Regent Business School and an Executive Development Programme from the University of Cape Town, alongside degrees in Human Resource Management and Arts from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

The Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority’s (INSETA) primary purpose is grow the pool and quality of critical and scarce skills within the insurance sector. These skills enhance the sector while supporting the transformation of the country. We have centered our strategies and goals to implement the mandates of the National Skills Development Plan 2030 (NSDP), Skills development Act (SDA), the skills development levies act (SDLA), the PFMA, the INSETA constitution, the Department of Higher Education (DHET) and other legislation that relates to the governance of Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).
