Karine Duhamel, PhD, currently serves as the Director at SSHRC-CRSH, focusing on accelerating Indigenous research initiatives in collaboration with Indigenous partners. Previous roles include Special Advisor/Manager at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada, Independent Consultant and Historian, Curator at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Director of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, and Adjunct Faculty Instructor at The University of Winnipeg. Duhamel has extensive experience in curating programs, historical research on Indigenous issues, and developing strategies for Indigenization. Duhamel holds a PhD in History, an MA in Canadian History, a BEd in Education, and a BA in Canadian History, all from reputable institutions including the University of Manitoba and Lakehead University.
