Michael Griffin

Michael Griffin, PhD, serves as the Chief Data Scientist at Insight since March 2016, where a novel machine learning and optimization method for improving healthcare delivery to chronic patients was developed. Prior experience includes working as a Financial Software Engineer at Delphi Capital Management, creating a web-based trading platform for hedge funds, and as an Application Engineer at Vast Scientific, inventing a machine learning algorithm for equity trading. Griffin founded Xpogen, acting as CTO and President, where a scientific research platform was developed for functional genomics discovery. Earlier roles include Research Assistant at MIT, where innovative simulations for submarines were performed, and Research Scientist at David Taylor Model Basin, contributing to fluid dynamics software. Educational credentials include a PhD in Ocean Engineering from MIT, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University, and a B.S. in Engineering Physics from the University of Maine.
