Liz Weber

Director, Policy & Program Development at Insight Policy Research

Elizabeth Weber has 17 years’ experience in policy analysis, research, and technical assistance for poverty reduction and nutrition assistance programs. A national expert on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Liz served for nine years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), advising senior officials on potential impacts of emerging policy issues, conducting regulatory and legislative research and economic data analysis, and providing technical assistance to state health and human service agencies. Her experience spans SNAP, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and child nutrition programs.

As director of policy and program development at Insight, Liz leads work that brings together policy analysis, data, and improvement strategies for social safety net programs. Through the SNAP Process Improvement Collaborative and Notice Improvement projects, she has provided policy advice, training, and individualized technical assistance to 23 state human service agencies. She currently leads a 4-year Policy Analysis and Program Support project for FNS, a policy compliance improvement project for a state human services agency, and a 4-year quality assurance of quality control initiative for FNS. Liz holds a degree from Macalester College.
