Aparna Balarama Rao

Aparna Balarama Rao is an Automation Engineer III at insitro since July 2023, having previously served as an Automation Support Engineer II. Prior work experience includes an Associate Scientist role at 1859 Inc from October 2021 to April 2023, and various teaching and research positions at UC San Diego from May 2020 to June 2021. Aparna contributed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Cognitive Science, supporting courses including Introduction to Cognitive Science and Introduction to Computing, while also conducting graduate research in the Xu Research Group and the Neural Interaction Laboratory. Earlier academic involvement included research internships at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and undergraduate research at SSN College of Engineering, focusing on EEG/ERP acquisition and analysis. Aparna holds a Master’s degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering from SSN College of Engineering.
