Sungjin Lee

Sungjin Lee currently serves as Director at insitro since September 2025. Previously, Sungjin held various positions at Surrozen from July 2017 to September 2025, including Associate Director, Principal Scientist, Senior Scientist, and Scientist II. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral role at Stanford University from April 2012 to July 2017, where research focused on identifying novel synaptic adhesion molecules and utilizing techniques in protein biochemistry and molecular biology, as well as work with CRISPR-Cas9 to generate human embryonic stem cell lines. Earlier postdoctoral work at The University of Tokyo involved investigating the relationship between function and structure of synaptic protein complexes. Sungjin holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Neurosciences from The University of Tokyo, along with a Master’s Degree from Pohang University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science from the University of Seoul.
