Tom Soare

Tom Soare is a Principal Data Scientist at insitro since July 2020, specializing in statistical genetics and machine learning. Previously, Tom held various roles at Goldfinch Bio, advancing to Principal Scientist in Computational Biology & Statistical Genetics, where significant contributions included developing Python/hail pipelines for large genomic studies and quality control for whole-genome sequencing. Experience also includes a Data Science Fellowship at Insight Data Science, a Senior Analyst position at Massachusetts General Hospital, and involvement with the Broad Institute. An epidemiologist role at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health involved leading data analysis for public health interventions. Tom earned a PhD in Psychology with a focus on Population Genetics and Behavior from the University of Washington and holds a BA in Environmental Science from Boston University.
