Maria Sciame, RRT, PharmD has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare. Maria has held various positions throughout their career, starting from 2000 until the present. Maria has served as an Associate Director of Medical Science Liaison at Insmed Incorporated since 2018. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Senior Medical Science and Outcomes Liaison at Shire. Maria also has experience as a Medical Science Liaison at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals from 2014 to 2015. Before transitioning into the pharmaceutical industry, Maria held leadership positions in clinical services. From 2006 to 2013, they worked as the Vice President of Clinical Services at PMSI, where they played a crucial role in the company's strategic vision and plan for clinical pharmacy offerings. Maria had also worked as the Director of Pharmacy Benefits at Manatee County Government from 2005 to 2006, working closely with the health plan's Benefit Manager on pharmacy benefit design and collaborating with the plan's PBM for optimal member outcomes. In addition to their industry experience, Maria was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Florida from 2000 to 2005, where they served as an expert presenter in therapeutics and as a preceptor for Doctor of Pharmacy students. Maria Sciame, RRT, PharmD obtained their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from the University of Florida in 1997. Following their graduation, they pursued a Specialty Residency in Primary Care Pharmacy Practice at the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in 1998.

Additionally, Maria has obtained various certifications including being a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida and a Registered Respiratory Therapist certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Maria has also held the Certified Diabetes Educator certification from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE), although it has lapsed. Further, they have received the Diabetes Educator Certification from Pharmacy Partners in Diabetes Care.
