Olivier Frey has a diverse work experience in the fields of technologies and platforms, microphysiological systems, microfluidics, and BioMEMS. Olivier worked as a Vice President at InSphero, starting in March 2021. Prior to that, they held various roles at InSphero including Head of Technologies & Platforms from January 2019 to February 2021, Group Lead of Technologies & Platforms from September 2017 to December 2018, and Product Manager of Microphysiological Systems from September 2016 to August 2017. Before joining InSphero, Olivier worked at ETH Zurich as an Oberassistent/Principle Investigator from April 2013 to August 2016, and as a Postdoctoral Fellow from August 2010 to March 2013. At ETH Zurich, they focused on the development of microsystems for single-cell and 3D tissue handling and analysis, and integrated biosensor systems for biochemical monitoring. Olivier also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at EPFL from April 2010 to June 2010.
Olivier Frey completed their education starting from 1999 to 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (MSc) degree in Microtechnology and Mechanics at ETH Zürich. Olivier continued their educational journey from 2006 to 2010 at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), obtaining a Doctor of Science (Dr. Sc.) degree. During their doctoral studies, Olivier focused on the fields of Microtechnology, Biosensors, and Neuroscience.
