Lori Armstrong DNP, RN, NEA-BC has a varied and extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Lori started their career as a Nurse Manager at the University of Illinois Hospital & Clinics. Lori then moved on to become the Director of Neonatal Services at Carolinas HealthCare System.
In 2001, Lori joined Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University, where they held several positions including Administrative Director of the Johnson Center for Pregnancy & Newborn Services, Director of the Center for Nursing Excellence, and Director of Education, Clinical Practice, & Neonatal Intensive Care Units. During their time at Lucile Packard, they made significant contributions such as improving earnings, reducing operational costs, and increasing the retention rate of Neonatal ICU RNs.
From 2008 to 2012, Lori served as the VP of Nursing & Patient Care Services at New York-Presbyterian Hospital – Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, Sloane Hospital for Women, where they focused on leadership and team restructuring to enhance patient care.
Lori then joined Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas as the Sr. Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer, where they played a crucial role in leadership development and improving patient care outcomes.
Lori also has experience working at Kaiser Permanente as the Chief Nursing Executive, responsible for nursing and patient care services at the Santa Clara, California campus. Their key focus areas included quality, patient safety, workforce development, succession planning, and patient and family-centered care.
Currently, Lori is the CEO & Chief Clinical Officer at Inspire Nurse Leaders, providing strategic leadership and guidance to advance nursing practice.
In addition to their clinical work, Lori has been an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University's College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Most recently, Lori has taken on the role of Strategic Nursing Advisor at CCA Healthcare - Corporate Counseling Associates Healthcare.
Throughout their career, Lori has demonstrated expertise in leadership, patient care, quality improvement, and education, making significant contributions to the organizations they have worked with.
Lori Armstrong DNP, RN, NEA-BC has a diverse educational background. Lori obtained their Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Drexel University between 2015 and 2017. Before that, Lori earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing & Health Systems Administration from Queens University of Charlotte in 2002. Lori also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Stony Brook University. Additionally, Lori has completed the Kaiser Permanente Executive Leadership Program at Harvard Business School Executive Education. Lori has obtained certifications as a Certified Group Facilitator from DDI | Development Dimensions International and as a Nursing Executive Advanced – Board Certified (NEA-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
