Head, Brand Partnership at Instacart

Josh Rider is the current Head of Brand Partnership at Instacart. Prior to this, they were the SVP, Client Lead - Ahold US at Symphony EYC from July 2016 to July 2017. Josh's focus there was on delivering data driven insights and recommendations for Ahold US to better serve their customers. Josh led a team of data analysts, insight managers for merchandising, CRM strategy managers, and CPG consultants across two offices. Josh was also accountable for contributing to Ahold US' growth agenda, managing Symphony EYC's P&L with the client, and developing and coaching a multi-discipline team.

From March 2015 to January 2016, Josh Rider was the VP Strategic Pricing at Total Wine & More. Josh developed a new pricing architecture using segmentation criteria including competitor assortment and advertising strategy, Nielsen ranking, and wholesaler data leading to sales and margin dollar growth and improved customer price perception in test market. Additionally, they freed 750 man-hours annually by redesigning competitive intelligence process with combination of enhanced tools designed in partnership with IT, incorporating a new competitive shop data provider, deploying new templates to capture more accurate data, and testing new app-enabled technology. Finally, they restructured the team of six to align against markets with similar competitor concentration (e.g. Club, Grocery, Independent).

Josh Rider graduated with a BBA from Emory University and an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management. Josh has worked in strategy, finance, and analytical consulting.
