Michael Loughnane began their career in 1965 as a Consultant at JPL (NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory). In 1966, they transitioned to a role as a Biomedical Engineer at Temple Univ.School of Medicine. In 1971, they founded Instech Laboratories, Inc., where they served as the Chief Technology Officer.
Michael Loughnane attended Brown University from 1956 to 1961, where they obtained a BS in engineering with a general electrical specialty. Michael then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University from 1963 to 1966.
