Milka Popovic has a strong background in public health and medicine. Milka started their career in 1993 as an internal medicine resident at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina. Milka later became an MD and specialist in hygiene at the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina in 1998. Throughout their career, they held various leadership positions, including Head of the Department of Hygiene and Human Ecology at the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina in 2008. Currently, they serve as the Chief of the Nutrition and Food Safety Unit at the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina/Faculty of Medicine since 2017.
Milka Popovic completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Health from Univerzitet u Novom Sadu in 2013, after earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Medicine from the same university in 1993. In 2011, they undertook a postgraduate program in Nutrition at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Milka also holds additional certifications from the World Obesity Federation. Milka began their educational journey at Srednja medicinska skola "7. April", although specific details are not provided.
