Carlos Escudero-Oñate

Carlos Escudero-Oñate has a diverse and extensive work experience. Carlos is currently working as the Head of Department at the Institute for Energy Technology since January 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Business Development Manager for EU projects at the same institute from October 2020 to March 2022.

In 2018, Carlos was an Innovation Board Member (IMB) for SIMBA. Innovation Action. H2020. From 2017 to 2022, they held various roles in different organizations. Carlos served as a Member of the Joint Government Structure and Supervisory Board at AQUAlity ITN H2020. Carlos was also a Member of the Scientific Board at NordAqua Nordic Centre of Excellence.

From 2013 to 2020, Carlos worked at Norsk institutt for vannforskning (NIVA). Carlos started as a Researcher involved in biotechnology projects related to microalgae and cyanobacteria exploitation for food and feed production, water treatment, and valorization of industrial wastes. Carlos later became a Project Manager (Senior Researcher) responsible for project identification, coordination, management, and report preparation.

Carlos has previous experience as an Expert Chemist at Generalitat de Catalunya, where they conducted forensic analysis of seized samples and provided support to criminalistics investigations. Carlos also worked as the Technical Director at Axati Flaires Cosmetics, S.L., overseeing the development and formulation of cosmetic products, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, they have served as a Technical Expert and Professor at the Centro de innovación y formación ocupacional de Salt, and as an Associate Professor at the Universitat de Girona. Carlos began their career as a PhD Student at the Universitat de Girona, working on environmentally-friendly technologies for the removal of heavy metals and arsenic from aqueous effluents.

Carlos Escudero-Oñate earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Valencia in 1998, which they followed up with a Master's degree in Chemistry from the same institution in 2003. Carlos then pursued further studies and obtained a PhD in Chemistry from the Universitat de Girona in 2008. Carlos has a strong educational background in the field of Chemistry.
