Gaute Otnes is a Senior Scientist at the Institute for Energy Technology since May 2018, focusing on research related to PV module degradation within the Solar Power Systems Department. Prior to this role, Gaute Otnes was a PhD Student at Lund University from January 2014 to March 2018, where research centered on a next-generation solar cell concept utilizing III-V nanowire arrays. Gaute Otnes has held positions as a Research Associate at the Colorado School of Mines, studying the optical properties of silicon quantum dots for photovoltaics, and as a teacher in math and natural sciences. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics from Lund University, an MSc in Material Physics from the Colorado School of Mines, and a BSc in Nanotechnology from the University of Bergen.
