Rune Fredriksen

Rune Fredriksen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in both academic and political spheres. Currently serving as the leader of the main committee for transport, climate, and environment at Østfold fylkeskommune since December 2023, Rune also holds the position of Research Scientist at both the Institutt for energiteknikk and the Halden Reactor Project. Additional roles include subject responsible for risk analysis at Østfold University College since August 2018, and leadership positions within the Arbeiderpartiet, including as president of Fredrikstad Arbeiderparti and group leader for Arbeiderpartiet at Viken fylkeskommune. Notable involvements also extend to the Assembly of European Regions as President of AER Summer Academy, and previous board membership at Østfoldforskning. Rune's educational background includes a Cand.Scient. degree in Computer Science from Østfold University College.
