Stephane Polteau

Stephane Polteau is a seasoned research scientist currently engaged with the Institute for Energy Technology and Reservoir Technology since February 2020, focusing on subsurface fluid-related inquiries. Previously, Stephane served as CEO of SurfExGeo AS from May 2019 to November 2022, providing specialized personnel for exploration activities related to hydrocarbon and mineral deposits. From June 2008 to May 2019, experience as a senior geologist at Volcanic Basin Petroleum Research AS involved planning and executing marine expeditions and report generation from seafloor sampling. An academic background includes a post-doctorate at the University of Oslo, investigating magmatic intrusions and organic matter within sedimentary basins. Stephane earned a PhD and M.Sc. in Economic Geology from Rhodes University, contributing a strong foundation in geological processes and exploration.
