Art Carden

Adjunct Program Officer at Institute for Humane Studies

Art Carden serves as the Margaret Gate Bush Distinguished Professor of Economics and previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Economics at Samford University since July 2012. Carden also holds roles at various institutions, including Senior Fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Faith, Work, and Economics, and Senior Fellow at the Beacon Center of Tennessee, all since 2012 or earlier. Additionally, Carden is an Adjunct Program Officer at the Institute for Humane Studies and a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute. Carden's academic background includes a PhD in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and both a BS and MA in Economics from The University of Alabama. Previous experience includes a position as Assistant Professor at Rhodes College and a Summer Fellow at the Ludwig von Mises Institute.
